I’ve done the start-up People & Talent journey several times during the past decade, starting with Dropbox on the cusp of their hyper-growth journey in the early/mid 2010s and then onto three more Index Ventures portfolio companies as their People Leader.

I’ve also done my fair share of shorter-term advisory, consulting and coaching work for several more venture-backed Seed/Series A stage technology companies, as well as my portfolio advisory role with leading Climate Tech VC firm, Transition.

I’m based in Broadstairs on the beautiful East Kent Coast, an hour’s journey out from London, but have operated internationally throughout my career. My primary in-house experience saw me focus on the London, Dublin, New York, San Francisco and Austin tech markets, but I’ve deepened my network and knowledge in multiple core EU markets during recent years (Copenhagen, Berlin, Stockholm, Oslo, Paris and Munich especially).

Outside of the start-up world, I’m a keen cook, a fermentation bore (I’ll bend your ear about hot sauce and sauerkraut recipes for as long as required), jaded sports fan (Sunderland AFC is a lifelong affliction), and passionate sociolinguist (did a lot of pretty niche study of language and society in postcolonial Sub Saharan Africa in my university days, and have kept a keen interest in how language just matters).
