A few of the scale-up journeys Alex has been on
VP People, Cutover.
Navigated the pandemic, delivering headcount growth from 50 to 220 through Series A and B funding rounds and >5x revenue growth. On the Executive Team, built a great People team from the ground up, and provided the “employee lifecycle” infrastructure required to scale an evolving global business in a sustainable and empathetic manner.
Head of People, Beamery.
First Talent/People feet on the ground, joining as Series A funds hit the bank to lead hyper-growth period, scaling from 30 to 160+ employees in 18 months, via a successful Series B raise. Executive Team member, reporting to CEO, also getting hands-on with some product strategy/directional work (Beamery is a Talent Technology platform).
Portfolio Advisor (VP People), Transition.
Collaborating with the investment team at leading climate-technology venture capital firm, Transition, to advise portfolio founders (from Seed to Series B) on all things People, Talent, and Operations to equip them for their scaling journeys. Working closely with companies such as Reel, Odyssey, Waterplan, Heat Geek, Phase Biolabs, Upway, and ElectricityMaps.
Various Talent & Employer Branding roles, Dropbox.
Saw real early/mid 2010s money-no-object-hyper-scaling, part of the team delivering 10x growth from 200 to 2,000+ employees in under four years. Don’t imagine scaling like this will ever be repeated (nor should it be!), but we learned a hell of a lot and built something genuinely best-in-class,
Leadership advisor, coach, consultant, operator.
Beam, BoF, Syndi Health, Dimension10, RaiseMe, Cutover, and more.
A multitude of fractional, consulting, advisory, coaching and shorter-term impact work across a range of earlier stage (Seed and Series A) technology and media companies. Most often working directly with/for Founders, CEOs, and Executives on everything from 1:1 leadership coaching to People Strategy.
I’ll happily put you in touch with relevant references on request, but you’ll probably be reaching out to folks directly to see what I’m all about (if you’re not doing this already, then I’d encourage you to do so before engaging any external consultant!)
